As usual, the Monkey was forced to his No. 6 starter and now must decide what to do with him. Replace him with Kris Medlen, who has a 5.60 ERA, or trade him and get something to help his lineup.

Ernie Lombardi had a three-run home run, while Bob Hamelin added two hits and a RBI in the win. Gio Gonzalez took another beating, giving up five earned runs in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.

In the other game, Sidney Ponson pitched a three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts to lead the Golden Glovers past the Rolling Thunder 3-0.

Jimmy Rollins and Darin Darst each had home runs in the win, while Rick Ankiel had 16 strikeouts in the loss for the Thunder.
