Connie Marrero pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Fort Lauderdale Flash over the Chunky Monkey 2-0 on Opening Day for Season 11.

The Flash got both runs from solo shots as Greg Vaughn and Prince Fielder bombed homers.

Ramon Martinez, who was the first pitcher drafted, ended up with the loss despite allowing just five hits, two earned runs in eight innings. He also had seven strikeouts.
