Game 28: Jordan’s big game lifts Flash past Thunder 8-6

Glovers nip Monkey

I think Brian Jordan wants to play more.

Jordan was 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBI as the Fort Lauderdale Flash held on to beat the Rolling Thunder 8-6.

Johnny Bench added a home run and two RBI, while Robert Clemente also had a home run as the Flash pounded Roy Halladay for 10 hits and seven earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.

Derek Jeter had three hits and three RBI, while Todd Helton added three hits in the loss.

In the other game, Ben Zobrist had a home run and four RBI, while Steve Garvey added four hits to lead the Golden Glovers past the Chunky Monkey 8-7.

Rick Sutcliffe got the win, going 7 1/3 innings, while Mark Langston couldn’t make it out of the first inning, giving up five earned runs and four hits in 1/3 of an inning. Darin Erstad was 2 for 5 with a home run and four RBI.
