Awards: Bagwell takes home MVP; Quisenberry wins Cy Young

In the seventh annual MicroLeague awards, the Rolling Thunder’s Jeff Bagwell was named unanimous MVP, while Fort Lauderdale Flash’s Dan Quisenberry was unanimous Cy Young.

Bagwell came close to winning the Triple Crown, hitting .339 (3rd) with 30 home runs (1st) and 84 RBI (1st). Bagwell also finished second in the league in doubles with 25 in helping the Thunder make the World Series.

Quisenberry, who was the No. 1 overall draft pick, easily won the Cy Young Award for the World Series Champion Flash. Quisenberry finished 7-1 with a league-leading seven saves, while compiling a 1.53 ERA in 59 innings. He also had just five walks on the season with a 0.664 WHIP.
