Game 9: Garciaparra (2 HRs, 5 RBI) paces Flash over Glovers 8-6

Pedro pitches Thunder past Monkey

The Flash offense continues to impress early on as Nomar Garciaparra and Vinny Castilla each hit two home runs to lead the Flash past the Golden Glovers 8-6.

Carciappara finished with five RBI, while Castilla had three RBI. Moises Alou and Ty Cobb each added two hits.

Darren Oliver got the win in relief, pitching 6 1/3 innings with six strikeouts, while Livan Hernandez falls to 0-2.

Randall Simon, making the start at DH over Giancarlo Stanton was 3 for 5 with two RBI, while Chris Sabo added two hits, a home run and two RBI.

Pedro Martinez pitched a complete game with 15 strikeouts to lead the Rolling Thunder past the Chunky Monkey 5-1.

Jackie Robinson had three hits, while Willie McGee added two hits and a RBI in the victory. Jose Marina had two hits in the loss for the Monkey.
