Maddux pitches Thunder over Flash
Oh Jose. Even with the Labor Day break, its the same old story for the Monkey.
Alex Rodriguez hit two home runs, including one in the bottom of the 9th to break a 3-3 tie, lifting the Golden Glovers past the Chunky Monkey 4-3.
There’s no official record on the Monkey’s 1-run losses, or losses in the 9th, or losses in extra innings, but I’m guessing its like 5-20.
Jeff Brantley picked up the win in relief, going 3 2/3 innings with three strikeouts.
In the other game, Greg Maddux improved to 11-1 with a complete game, three-hitter as the Rolling Thunder edged the Fort Lauderdale Flash 2-1. Fred McGriff had a a home run in the victory, while Miguel Tejada had a HR in the loss for the Flash.
Mario Soto did pitch well, but took the loss, throwing five innings in seven strikeouts.
